It might not be perfect, but it should work for you if you have a hard time introducing the game to your group and/or family because of it's premise. Although we use Star Wars minis for figures, I suppose you could use cutouts, or something similar, if desired. I own (and play under the cover of night) Chaos in the Old World but didn't want the kids, and sometimes others, exposed to it's very dark theme, so I did a full Star Wars re-theme of the game. Also, you can use a cool God figure to mark its place on the chart. I know lots of folks love the dials - I get that, but I like to be able to easily see where all the Gods are at and what they may get next without having to fiddle with the dials or remember. It has the ruination numbers right on the board below the regions, so you don't have to ever look at the cards or pass them around the old world cards are in the middle, so easier for all players to see or grab there is more room for figures and tokens I tried to make the region borders very noticeable even for new players, the Populous regions are the ones with cities depicted, instead of saying "populous" really small the forests take the place of the arrows on the original board that mark region order etc. I know most folks love the original map - I think it's a beautiful, clever work of art, but a bit busy and cramped to play on. Complete with chart instead of the dials. I referenced several Warhammer RPG maps to create this one.
